Day Surgery

The Day Surgery unit at Cuero Community Hospital performs a variety of surgical procedures that include colonoscopy, endoscopy of stomach, tubal ligation, dilitation and curettage, laparoscopy, local excision, cataract, athroscopy of joint, bunionectomy, carpal tunnel release, hammertoe correction, trigger finger release, needle directed breast biopsy, central line placement, foreign body removal, hemorrhoidectomy, hernia repair, gallbladder removal, skin cancer excision, vastectomy, epidural steroid injection, colposcopy, reduction of fracture, incision and drainage of abscess and other procedures.

These procedures are performed by our local physicians and/or our specialty physicians. The average length of stay from admission to dismissal is 3-4 hours. Recovery care after the surgical procedure is completed will be done in the post anesthesia recovery unit; however, many times this is done in the patient room where family members may be with the patient.

Anesthesia is provided by our home town anesthesists Andrew Armondo CRNA and Paul Hassfield CRNA. A variety of anesthesia types are available including local, IV sedation, general, and spinal.

Your selection of Cuero Community Hospital to provide your medical care is sincerely appreciated. Please contact this unit for more information by calling 361-275-0508.
