Planned Giving
The DeWitt Medical Foundation is happy to discuss with you the many gift-planning avenues that are available. Bequests or charitable gifts by will or trust need to be carefully planned with the help of an attorney. DMF would like to be notified of any such bequests so that we may take the opportunity to thank you for you generosity. If you prefer to remain anonymous, your gift will be kept completely confidential. However, recognition of you gift can encourage others to do the same. Whatever the case, we will honor your wishes and greatly appreciate the support.
Sample of bequest language: "I give, devise, and bequeath to the DeWitt Medical Foundation, 615 N. Esplanade, Cuero, Texas 77954, the sum of $__________to be used for its general purpose."
Or
"I give, devise, and bequeath to DeWitt Medical Foundation, 615 N. Esplanade, Cuero, Texas 77954, for its general purposes, all (or state the fraction or percentage) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real or personal."
Charitable Gift Annuities are offered by DMF which is a 501(c)3 and a 501(a)1 designated organization. This type of gift is a wonderful way to make a contribution and realize generous lifetime income as well as current year tax savings. A gift annuity is an agreement of contract between a donor and the DeWitt Medical Foundation whereby you transfer cash or appreciated assets to the Foundation, and in return receive guaranteed fixed-dollar payments which will continue for life. The gift rate and tax savings for a charitable gift annuity vary from person to person, depending on age and the number of beneficiaries. Some of the benefits of an annuity include simplicity in creation, minimum initial gift amount, fixed income for life, security, and lower tax on income.
